I have chosen for the table aprons a 1 x 12 clear and better rosey pine board. In the photo on the
right I'm checking my cad drawings of the dimensions for the front and rear apron.

|
The left photo shows squaring the end of the board, I always use my table saw to square my boards never
trusting a miter saw to do this for me. In the right photo I'm ripping the rosey pine down to the final
dimensions for the aprons.

With the final machining completed I glue-up the front apron. I do not use biscuits for this joinery.
I've found that a lot of times on smaller projects I get a more cleaner fit without biscuits.

I clamp the apron together and set it aside for a couple of hours before I do any more work on it.
The photo on the right shows all the aprons completed and ready to cut the tongue on them.

|
Before I begin cutting the tongues on the aprons I make a quick couple of passes through the
sander to flatten and make them more the same thickness. The right photo shows how I match and
scribe the leg and apron together to help get a closer fit when I cut the tongue on the aprons.
